Job description:
- Record the arrival of the customer, in order to regulate the administrative formalities required by the hotel
- Inform the client about the services offered by the hotel and give him the keys to his room
- If necessary, provide information on cultural, gastronomic and other activities proposed by the city or region
- Sometimes, take care of certain reservations (taxi, restaurant, theater …)
- Upon departure, prepare invoices and cash the customer’s payment
- Schedule upstream bookings that arrive by mail, fax or phone
- Respond effectively to all outside calls
- Respond effectively to all internal calls from customers and the team and provide a correct and effective response to each request, transfers to services concessions (Spa, Bar & Restaurant)
- Use at all times the scripts and the greeting formulas, which are put in place
- Properly inform about services and different types of rooms, and promote them to optimize sales
- Respect the standards and procedures put in place
- Ability to communicate and interact in a variety of work situations
- Ability to sell products and services
- Ability to carry out activities related to individual bookings and groups
- Ability to transact
The receptionist is the first person the customer sees when arriving at the hotel. Its role of reception and of direct information is essential. In some hotels, the receptionist also plays the role of the ”concierge” and can take care of the relations with the outside animation. It also has an important indirect administrative role, upstream of the customer’s arrival, in the management of calls, reservations and room schedules.
