Job description: What is the opportunity?

You will leads and manage the day-to-day credit operations of a Global Loan Administration team including monitoring conditions of the credit and processing advancement of funds within the Credit Agreement terms across the Wholesale Loan Book in Capital Markets.

In addition, your responsibilities will include post-sales servicing of other business lines and platforms including Securitization, Secondary Loan Trading, Nonperforming loans, and Corporate Client Group in Canadian Banking. (Total authorized of ~ $240 billion portfolio)

What will you do?

  • Manages a team of 8-10 Analysts and manages 1 Assistant Manager.
  • Be accountable and responsible for the oversight of
  • Operationalization and execution of the Corporate Lending Credit Agreement, and
  • Its daily monitoring, processing & servicing which includes but is not limited to: Preparation & maintenance of the “Front Sheet”, liaising with Corporate Treasury, and ensuring prompt and accurate completion of rate sets, booking & advancement of funds, collection of fees/principal/interest.
  • Be a Subject Matter expert for all operational/processing requirements of the lending function. This includes responsibility in: Implementing all new loan processing, special loan processing, processing for complex and /or unusual transactions including our ability to deliver the product in Global Environment.
  • Provide advice & counsel to Corporate Bankers on terms/conditions of the Credit Agreement at the draft stage as it relates to implications with respect to, jurisdiction/regulatory; effective connection; withholding tax; currency capabilities; and timing/cash flow requirements.
  • Review processes on an ongoing basis to ensure that they continue to be relevant to the current business and operational environment as well as stay current on market-driven aspects of loan.
  • Be accountable for the management of Operational and Reputational risk. This includes full risk analysis and review of processes to identify and mitigate risks within the business.
  • Be responsible for oversight and management of all: (ii) data integrity reports; (ii) internal/external Audit/Sox processes; and (iii) ensuring changes are identified, implemented, captured, and documented within the operating framework and are kept current.
  • Be responsible for process improvements and process re-engineering with the intent of gaining operational efficiencies, leveraging system applications, and improving Key Performance Indicators. Meeting target goals of gaining 10% efficiencies year over year.

What will you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Graduate-level accreditation in Business/Finance or equivalents such as MBA, CFA, CA.
  • 3-5 years Front line/Middle Office experience in lending function;
  • 3-5 years Operational Risk management experience;
  • An undergraduate degree with a strong operations/operations consulting background (8+ years) with expert knowledge in lending /credit practices including knowledge of syndication practices, loan documentation, lending products, funding mechanisms in Canadian, US, UK/EU markets.
  • Proven ability to lead a cohesive team charged with effectively balancing the customer experience while managing operational and reputational risk.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage strong and effective relationships with internal and external business partners.
