The opportunity

The Manager, Lending Administration is a technical expert and plays a key role within our National Credit Support team leading a geographically dispersed team in hybrid work environments responsible for loan administration, maintenance and servicing Canadian Western Bank’s loan portfolio. This role works collaboratively with the senior leaders of Credit Support to drive a high level of quality and standards, risk management, strong data integrity, high quality leadership and coaching to both onsite and remote teams. This individual will also provide team leadership and support to credit support specific enterprise-wide projects and initiatives.

Day-to-day deliverables

Risk Management & Reporting

Ensure delivery of accurate and timely credit processing and support for the branch network through continuous collaborative approach with the business and corporate departments through consistent execution of work procedures, policies, and methods in compliance with Canadian Western Bank’s legal, regulatory business policies and procedures. Establishes and implements appropriate risk management practices within functional area. Drive development and accountability to generate predictable daily credit support outcomes, utilizing every experience to improve and enhance existing processes when warranted while safeguarding internal controls.

People Leadership

Adopt CWBs’ play-to-win leadership with a People First approach while leading a team of Lending Administration Specialists. Actively participate in all Talent Management practices inclusive of recruitment, onboarding, weekly one-on-ones, ongoing performance reviews, performance management, coaching, talent development, career design and succession planning to build and retain a high performing team. Promote and demonstrate behaviors that demonstrate CWB values and a growth mindset.

Financial Growth & Profitability

Contributes to the progress of targeted benefit realization from credit processing standardization by actively ensuring standardized lending administration processes are followed and data integrity is consistently achieved, monitored, and maintained. Utilize and provide both financial data and metrics to support strategic initiatives within the business or department. Support the development and sustainment of annual budget, operating within defined approvals within specified functional area and when participating in projects related to but inclusive of greater department scope.

Client focused

Deliver outstanding client experiences at every interaction and execute on plans to continuously build the client experience, in line with CWB’s brand promise. Establish a collaborative and client-centric relationship with the Credit Support center and branch networks while balancing the efficiencies and governance of a standardized structure. Achieving all SLA (Service Level Agreement) targets and delivering an unrivalled client experience.

Foundational knowledge requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Excellent knowledge of loan administration, collateral securities, and complex credit processes.
  • Strong knowledge of the Banking System, Loan Origination Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Forms.
  • Understanding of process improvement and continuous process design to achieve optimization

Demonstrated experience

  • Seven years credit support experience including 3 years of direct management and leadership experience with teams including direct and remote/virtual locations.
  • Change management experience with business transformation projects including coaching and mentoring high performing teams.
