Description
You’ll be part of our mechanical team specialized in mine dewatering and tailings disposal projects. You’ll encounter a variety of situations that will allow you to develop your technical skills for various industrial process applications such as tailings and slurry pumping and treatment, mine dewatering, cooling or heating systems and fuel pumping.
Your role as an engineer will be to participate in the design and detailed engineering of projects in the mining, energy and heavy industry sectors. You’ll play a primarily technical and project management role in the mandates assigned to you. You’ll work in the greater Montréal area, at our Mont-Saint-Hilaire offices.
More specifically, by joining our team, you’ll be required to:
- Lead and participate in project design studies.
- Help write technical reports.
- Lead and participate in designing plans, specifications and details based on guidelines from a senior engineer.
- Perform design calculations and ensure that plans meet guidelines as well as code requirements and other regulations.
- Provide recommendations on establishing standards and other practical applications.
- Coordinate the work of drafters or other team members.
- Assign and review the work of less experienced engineers, technicians and support staff.
- Make technical choices on designs that need to be established, provide recommendations and make important decisions on highly technical or complex issues.
- Ensure work complies with established budgets, estimates, procedures and schedules.
- Participate in technical audits and site surveys.
- Help draft proposals.

Requirements
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Experience in Mechanical Engineering in the industrial, energy or mining sectors
- Strong knowledge of one or more of the following fields: pumping, piping or stress analysis
- Available for short-term work assignments outside the office
- Bilingual (English and French)
- Asset: knowledge of numerical simulation software for pump sizing
- Asset: ASP Construction card
