The Opportunity

The Member Services Administration Specialist position is required for the execution of complex, cyclical, and compliance-oriented processes within the Member Services division to support the overall Member Experience and regulatory requirements. This position is intended to provide targeted pension administrative support during periods of seasonal process demands and various compliance activities and deadlines throughout the division. In addition, the Member Services Administration Specialist is required to provide a higher focus on peer mentorship, coaching, and leading the Member Services Administration Analyst(s) to be successful.

Who you’ll work with

The Member Services Administration Specialist will report directly to Member Services Senior Manager.

What you’ll do

Execute complex Member Services processes (including but not limited to Quality Assurance, Employer Information Services, Actuarial Services, Finance, etc.), and administration activities with increased specialization

Following self-learning and co-mentoring support from peers, the Specialist will be assigned to complete specific, targeted workflow and non-workflow processes or activities.

Assigned work to be carried out in an autonomous fashion, maintaining high quality outputs, good judgement, risk awareness, and attention to detail.

Task assignments will be pre-determined by Member Services management, are temporary, and rotational in nature.

Identify, analyze, and implement process improvement ideas/initiatives

Analyse task assignments with intent to improve operational efficiencies by providing solutions on reducing non-value-added process steps.

Thoroughly document improvement ideas and initiatives, and proactively manage a portfolio of process improvement and change initiatives to support business priorities and outcomes, and to drive measurable value.

Provide mentoring, coaching, and guidance for Member Services Administration Analyst

Mentoring and training of the Analyst (as required) to ensure quality and process execution consistency.

Monitoring decisions and processes completed by the Analyst to ensure accuracy, validity, and sound judgement.

Lead, coordinate, and report on progress of assigned tasks and initiatives by providing effective statistics and quantitative/qualitative data on team results

What you’ll need

6-12 months as Member Services Administration Analyst

Effectively provide coaching, mentoring, and positive/constructive feedback to team

Ability to work autonomously and offer support to peers in work areas without precedent

Proven analytical skills with great attention to detail

High attention to quality, controls, and procedure

Adapts well to change. Effectively shift focus and priorities, at times with little notice

High degree of confidentiality and discretion

Excellent research, investigation, and written communication skills

Thorough understanding of data systems in use at Teachers’ (Ed, SMS, BEST, Image, CTI,

etc.)

Proficient understanding of the Teachers’ Pension Act (TPA), board policies/procedures and internal work flow processes

Attention to quality, controls and procedures is crucial to the expected performance of this role Deals with sensitive and private member information, internally and with authorized 3rd parties. Any breach of procedures or processes dealing with sensitive data can lead to financial and reputation loss to the organization

Given the rotating nature of the work, strict adherence and awareness with all internal policies and codes is required
