Job description: Candidates are invited to apply for the temporary full time evening position of Nursing Administration/Ward Clerk at Chelsey Park Long Term Care Residence, a 247 bed home located in London On.

Reporting to the Nursing Operations Supervisor, the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting nursing administrative and ward clerk duties in our long term care home.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Formal training from a Medical Office Assistant program from an accredited facility is required.
• Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, be well organized and have excellent time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Outlook is a must
• Must have well developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to maintain a positive attitude while under pressure.
• Must be flexible, self-directed and able to function in a fast paced environment
• Long term care experience is an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
– Monitoring monthly nursing supply budget/complete purchase orders
– Set up charts for new admissions
– Health card verification/renewal
– Nursing supplies/ordering and inventory
– Completes work assignment sheets for the units
– Data input into Point Click Care
– Support for Registered staff on Doctor’s Days, including transcribing and processing of physician orders
– Supports Staffing clerk duties for scheduling/replacement sick calls
– Provides reception coverage as needed
– Opens, purges, closes and storing of medical records
– Additional duties as assigned

Hours of work for this position require flexibility including evenings, days, weekends, as well as statutory holidays and vacation coverage as scheduled/required.
Candidates will be required to provide a Vulnerable Persons Sector Police Check (acceptable if within 6 months).
