Global Supporting Role that provides specialized support and a dedicated technology environment that enables new technologies and agility to meet the unique needs of the Wholesale and TBSM businesses.
This role does not encompass any development. This role is very fast paced, and they have a lot of work to do.
It is intended the candidate will be part of a global support team, and will take part in support and on call type 24x7x365 activities. This will also involve active participation in project work and its associated deliverables.
The role is within TD’s – Infrastructure Service Delivery team.
Job Description
About This Role
This job works under the direction of the TDSGI Database Manager.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consult, engineer, design, build, test, deploy, and support quality database solutions that involve Oracle/SQL Server and are consistent with project objectives, client requirements, TD’s technology architecture standards and departmental best practices.
- Administer Oracle/SQL Server database infrastructure from design to deployment
- Utilize Oracle/SQL Server subject matter expertise to design or re-use, configure, and implement database solutions/processes that maximize system availability, efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, security, recoverability, and supportability, all while minimizing costs.
- Provide 3rd level on-call support on a rotational basis
- Supporting the application infrastructure that underpins the Front Office Trading and risk management platforms hosted on Windows Server 2012.
- Documenting Support Procedures – Ownership of the Operating Support Document.
- Supporting the production TDS Application platforms and users.
- Executing releases of new functionality or patches.
- Liaising with infrastructure teams to ensure that application infrastructure is appropriately configured.
- Liaising with CTB team to understand the schedule of releases, ensuring that all the appropriate sign-off has been obtained.
- Automation of common support tasks using scripts
- Application capacity monitoring and management
- Systems configuration: Follow set procedures to configure supported applications according to approved functional requirements. These requirements may form part of the project implementation, or may be part of production support.
- Management of all production support incidents in chosen issue/incident tracking software.
- Maintenance of PRD & DR environment: Be responsible for the working state of PRD & DR environments, ensuring they are fit for use.
- The role requires working a night shift starting at 9pm EST to support our Singapore based applications and their respective db environments.
Requirements

- Broad experience with IP networking concepts – routers, firewalls, etc
- Teamwork – strong relationships with developers and business analysts, architecture & operations

- Effective time management skills and ability to work under deadline and operational pressures.
