Coordinates Emerson Project Management Engineering Tasks and Inspections

Job Responsibilities:

Customer Inspection

  • Works with Emerson Project Managers (PMs) and Customer Support Representatives (CSRs) to establish customer inspection schedules for project orders.
  • Understands each project order’s technical and commercial inspection requirements.
  • Prepares and checks the accuracy of the documents required for each customer inspection.
  • To ensure all finished goods, documents and materials (for packing inspections) are prepared as per the customer requirements prior to inspection scheduled date.
  • Contacts Customer Inspector to align expectations of each customer inspection.
  • Coordinates with the factory and customer inspector to ensure the inspection is conducted in accordance to the agreement inspection test plans.
  • Ensures that the customer inspectors concerns are all addressed effectively.
  • To perform virtual inspection on dimensional and visual inspection on finished goods.
  • To perform photo-taking requirements as per customer requirements.
  • Be able to explain technical details of the tests indicated in the inspection test plan without compromising Emerson’s intellectual policy requirements.
  • Document any observations and punch points from the inspection and communicate them to the PM and CSR accordingly.
  • Works with PM, CSR and Factory to address inspection observations and punch points.
  • Works with Global Emerson teams to continuously improve on the Customer Inspection Experience and Efficiency.
  • Ensures compliance of workplace safety rules, including but not limited to the usage of a personal protective equipment, if provided to you, while working; not involve in any unsafe or negligent act that may endanger peers or oneself; reporting unsafe work conditions and providing suggestions to improve safety/ health at work, as needed.
  • Participates actively in continuous improvement initiatives that helps achieve key performance indicator goals.
  • Complete other job assigned by supervisor/manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering in Electronics and Info-comm Technology / Engineering.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, FPSO, petrochemicals or in a Quality Functions is preferred.
  • Knowledge in usage of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong interests in engineering.
  • Attention for details.
  • Good follow up and co-ordination skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional team members.
  • Ability to communicate and relate with peers, sub-contractors, and vendors.
  • Knowledge of ASME Sec IX, II (Part A &C) ASME B 31.3, 31.8 & AWS D1.1, Norsok and International Standard will be an added advantage.
