What you’ll be doing…
We are looking for skilled Project Managers for two different positions within the Asset Management group and will be interviewing throughout the posting period in December and January:
As a Project Manager, you will be an integral part of the Asset Management division. You demonstrate passion and excitement for integrating new innovative technology in achievement of BC Transit’s greenhouse gas reduction targets by delivering projects that are fully integrated, cost-effective and sustainable.
In these positions you’ll have the opportunity to lead Fleet Capital or Low Carbon Fleet Projects through the project lifecycle. You will be responsible for leading the integration of cross-functional fleet projects in the acquisition, development, and deployment of both capital assets (e.g. fleet, infrastructure, IT etc) and supporting business operations (e.g. scheduling, dispatch, maintenance) in alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget. You will work with the Procurement and Contracts departments to lead, plan, develop, support, and execute public procurement activities to acquire assets and services where required.
Our vision is for you to focus on:
- Managing a variety of transit facility and infrastructure related capital projects;
- Preparing project management plans and project business cases;
- Executing project plans while adapting to changes or requirements that may occur
- Collaborate with other BC Transit staff to develop technical specifications for procurement processes and facilitate a technical evaluation committee;
- Monitoring and ensuring all contractual requirements and deliverables are met;
- Foster regular and effective communications with BC Transit personnel, suppliers, external partners and stakeholders to ensure project success.
What would make you an asset?
You are a seasoned Project Manager who knows their way around large, complex, highly collaborative projects. You are able to efficiently manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
In addition, you are able to:
- Support and lead change management within an organization;
- Use a collaborative approach to Project Management with ability to navigate multiple levels of internal and external stakeholders;
- Be highly self-motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail;
- Problem solve and adapt to change easily, essentially you can roll with the punches!
- Communicate effectively through both oral written means. Able to deliver information and tailor delivery to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What you’ll bring to the table…
We love lifelong Learners and recommend the following mix of education or certifications to be successful in conjunction with relevant experience:
- A University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental Sciences or other related discipline
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience as a Project Manager
- Proven Project Management experience within an organization of a similar scope and complexity. Previous public sector or government Project Management experience is an asset
- Experience managing projects within the public sector or government (or a similarly large private agency) is an asset
- Knowledge or experience working with technology, infrastructure and utility related to low carbon and zero emission industry is considered an asset
- Occasional travel may be required to support project activities
