Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Indoor Environmental Quality team in our Richmond, BC Office.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Technologist will conduct field work for various projects in industrial, commercial, and residential industries. The Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) group provides consulting services for a variety of projects including:

  • COVID-19 services
  • Fire and smoke damage
  • Indoor air quality
  • Infection control
  • LEED
  • Legionella and water testing
  • Mould and water damage
  • Radon

As the ideal candidate, you are excited by the opportunity to learn the technical components of the services above, conduct site visits for the above services, and collaborate with a team of project technologists and project managers.

A Day in the life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:

  • Complete assessments for mould, indoor air quality (IAQ), designated substances and other hazardous materials
  • Conduct interviews with clients regarding building history and site-specific client concerns
  • Perform inspections and evaluate building systems
  • Assess building damages related to floods, water losses, smoke and fire
  • Assist clients following flood and loss emergencies to get buildings dried, cleaned or remediated and operational
  • Collect a variety of air and bulk (mould, asbestos, lead, dust, bacteria, etc.) samples
  • Interpret laboratory results
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and provide recommendations to address concerns
  • Inspect abatement and restoration contractors undertaking mould, asbestos and other hazardous materials remediation work to document that the work has been properly completed

What you bring to the Pinchin team:

  • College diploma in Construction or Architectural Technology, or Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or equivalent diploma or degree
  • 1-2 years of experience with IEQ work preferred
  • Consulting industry experience preferred
  • Experience with building construction or maintenance is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance and a personal vehicle required
  • Availability to travel to clients’ sites (throughout the province of BC)
  • Availability to work outside of core business hours (occasional evening and weekends)
