The Health Sector Information, Analysis and Reporting Division (HSIAR) sets the foundation for the delivery of high quality health sector information, analytics and reporting. The Division leads key information management functions including data stewardship, governance, security, access, analytics and reporting, quality assurance, performance measurement and evaluations functions. HSIAR sets out to exercise effective governance over data resources, while enabling timely and secure access to data, supporting an integrated, modernized model of information sharing across the health sector. The Division leads the overarching provincial analytic strategy and approach, and performs comprehensive, integrated analysis of health sector performance to ensure a consistent and timely approach to health system measurement utilizing a client centered approach.
Data Management and Stewardship (DMS) provides leadership in the use of, and access to, health data to support evidence-informed decisions, policy, analysis and research directed to achieving improvements in health outcomes. The branch is responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic vision for health secondary data management and data security, ensuring that ministry data assets are appropriately managed and effectively leveraged.
This position manages the administration of agreements and associated processes and policies between the Ministry and partners and clients requesting ongoing or one-time access to Ministry of Health data holdings and manage the provision of health data access services.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- University degree in Information Systems, Health Informatics, Public Policy, the social sciences, Law, or other relevant discipline and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (preference may be given to applicants with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience).
- A diploma in Information Systems, Health Informatics, Public Policy, the social sciences, Law, or other relevant discipline and a minimum of 5 years’ of recent related experience may be considered; OR
- A minimum of 6 years relevant equivalent combined education and experience may be considered.
Recent Relevant experience must include all of the following:
- Experience managing professional/technical staff and/or project teams.
- Experience researching, analyzing, synthesizing and preparing information and briefing materials for decision-makers on policy, strategic, and/or business/operational matters
- Experience establishing collaborative relationships with business clients and stakeholders.
- Experience providing policy and issues management advice to senior executives/decision makers.
- Experience interpreting, applying, and providing advice on or in relation to: legislative/regulatory frameworks; and/or policy frameworks.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Significant experience working with data for secondary use purposes (e.g. research or systems planning, monitoring, and evaluation).
- Experience in health research, in particular with documentation, processes and protocols (e.g., funding/grant sources and process; research ethics; methodology).
- Experience developing or supporting the development of policies or procedures that define and promote information/data stewardship management principles.
