About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Secretary II will perform a variety of secretarial, administrative and co-ordination duties including but not limited to providing administrative and clerical support, arranging appointments, general secretarial duties (processing mail, composing routine correspondence, typing, transcribing dictation, filing, etc), attending meetings, taking and transcribing minutes, supports payroll activities and other related duties as assigned.
This position also provides some support to Diabetic Clinic, Lab, DI and Foot Clinic.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Completion of Grade XII
- Graduate of a business, office information technology, medical office assistant, secretarial course or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of two years secretarial experience required
- Medical Terminology Course or equivalent
- Meditech experience required
- Advanced working knowledge and proficiency with a variety of computer software and programs, specifically Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Willingness to learn new computer programming
- Adaptable to change and is flexible to accommodate the expectations of the position
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment and also effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to foster, demonstrate and maintain good public relations with patients/clients, visitors and the public.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and other members of the health care team.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including direct interaction with clients, staff and public
- Demonstrated excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
- Demonstrated commitment to self-learning and continuous professional development
- Commitment to maintain and protect patient, client, and personal safety on an ongoing basis
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives
$21.73 – $24.31 Hourly
