Job Description

What you can expect in a typical day

As the Senior Analyst, HR Governance & Administration, you will be responsible for leading and supporting aspects of the ongoing development, definition, and execution of the HR governance process, including best practice research, policy development, tracking, auditing, and reporting. This position is focused on considering the impacts of existing and emerging legal, regulatory, and internal requirements to Human Resources and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to enable compliance to those requirements. This is a multi-faceted position that will also play an active, supportive role across a variety of strategic HR activities and projects.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Leads aspects of the strategic development of the HR Governance Program by researching best practices and providing analytical support. Works with internal and external parties to ensure compliance with key HR governance processes and procedures and with legislative/legal requirements.
  • Assists with the day-to day operations of the Program by being the lead governance role on various initiatives and projects, in collaboration with HR Operations, HR Talent and Compensation and Benefits. Collaborates with other departments to assist with and provide guidance on compliance related projects and reviews.
  • Conducts periodic reviews to ensure that HR compliance procedures are followed. Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risks. Develops and implements corrective action plans for resolution of matter and provides guidance to the team and business.
  • Supports an effective governance communication program for the organization, including promoting heightened awareness of policies and procedures, and understanding of new and existing compliance matters and related policies and procedures.
  • Works with others as appropriate to develop an effective training program related to governance topics, including appropriate training for all employees and managers.
  • Develops and provides reporting as directed or requested.
  • Effectively uses and considers technology (Workday, Office 365) and tools to improve consistent application of policies and procedures.

  • Understanding of the legal and legislative obligations of Human Resources.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under short timeframes.
  • Comfortable handling deviations from routine, flexible and adaptable to changes in assignments and priorities.
  • Must be able to maintain good working relationship and partner well with the business.
  • Time, organizational and priority management skills.

Travel

Travel is not a requirement for this position.

Education and experience

  • University Degree. Concentration in Human Resources would be beneficial.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Project management experience would be an asset.
