Overall Job Purpose

The Snr Analyst provides the compilation and analysis of key business data that allows management to build the business plan, monitor its success, and adjust both strategy and tactics as required to achieve the plan. The Snr Analyst understands both the information and the business operations as such is both analyst and participant in the decision-making process. Evidence of the Snr Analysts job being well done is seen in the achievement of better reporting for senior management, accurate business plan and solid recommendations and reporting solutions as requested by Senior Management.

Key Accountabilities

Monthly Results Reporting

  • Gather, store, analyze and prepare key information for management that is used to assess monthly sales results.
  • Present analysis to management.

Marketing Allowance

  • Maintain accurate tracking of expected and received marketing allowance revenue and expenses to support management in allocating these dollars effectively.
  • Prepare invoices for billable amounts.
  • Reconcile Finance department’s accounting of marketing allowance to our internal tracking.

Revenue Controls Processes

  • Provide monthly analysis of renewal override revenue received to ensure completeness.
  • Participate and lead in the creation and enhancement of additional revenue controls processes.

Ad hoc requests and project work

  • Supports senior management in the preparation of high quality, accurate information and analysis. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is key.

Business Planning

  • Gather, store, analyze and prepare key information for management that is used to create annual IG Insurance Services Business Plans.

Qualifications

Education

Minimum Requirement: Completion of post-secondary in relevant business discipline

Preferred: Working toward designation

Experience

Minimum Requirement: 4+ years in reporting or analyst role

Preferred: 7 years in reporting or analyst role

Qualifications (certifications, designations etc.)

Preferred: CPA, CFA

Job specific knowledge and skills

Minimum Requirement: Computer skills (Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Word)

Preferred: Data visualization software, data management techniques
