Your opportunity

Our GTA office is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our client-facing Technology Consulting team and own the following responsibilities:

  • Define, clarify and develop project plans, scope and schedules
  • Develop policies and procedures to support the achievement of the project objectives
  • Determine the organizational structure of the project team; identify the roles and positions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business partners and other stakeholders, ensuring business and technical objectives are met
  • Adhere to project management standards while managing budgets, risk, project communications (i.e., status reports, issues tracking log, project plans, communication plans, presentations to steering committees, management of documents, etc.) to ensure cost effective, timely and effective delivery of projects
  • Assess the priority and scope of issues by understanding business objectives, technical costs and user needs, as well as being able to weigh alternatives for resolution
  • Understand all phases of the software development life cycle and various techniques to lead, create and motivate a high value project team consisting of various stakeholders

Your experience and education

  • You have a Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant discipline and 5 years of software design engineering experience
  • You possess technical leadership skills
  • You have at least 5 years of experience with Microsoft Project
  • You have strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and tools
  • You possess strong team leadership and coaching skills.
  • You have experience with multiple project methodologies: iterative, waterfall, flavours of agile.
  • You possess domain expertise in project management as applied to a particular field. Deep familiarity with one or multiple fields that provide natural authority and solid strategic insight. In particular: Mining, Finance, Insurance, Retail, or Agriculture.
  • If you have exposure with TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT, it would be considered an asset
