We are hiring a Senior Quality Management (QM) Specialist to support this transformation. As a QM specialist you will lead, coordinate and execute QM activities following the latest in automation standards and testing technologies. Within our Digital & Information Technology (D&IT) organization, you will be part of a high performing team that will deliver key digital products for our Point of Sale (POS) and Payment Processing teams.
You will use your expertise to:
- Work closely with the team to create, maintain and implement a Quality Management Centre of Practice (QM CoP) to support a consistent and repeatable QM methodology across all programs and projects across D&IT
- Manage the forecast, staffing and allocation of QM resources across a portfolio of projects in consultation with Program Managers, Project Managers and Project Test Leads
- Collaborate with various partners, including Operations, Application Design, Infrastructure and Service Provider teams to deliver QM testing activities according to established Suncor standards throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with the Project Test Leads, Program Managers, Project Managers and other project resources to assess and establish the Quality Management approach for projects and to streamline the delivery of this approach
- Maintain testing and documentation standards
- Prepare, document, and execute test scripts and test cases based on requirements
- Identify gaps in functional/technical specifications
- Create, track, modify, and close defect tickets using defect tracking tool
- Drive the successful resolution of QM issues and risks
- Support Operations in the resolution & testing of production problems
- Coach, train, and onboard new D&IT QM resources
- Attend all Product Team Daily Scrum meetings and other Agile Ceremonies (Sprint Review & Retro)
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, products and services with a focus on continuous improvement
We’d like to review your application if you have…
Must-haves (minimum requirements):
- Five years of experience in leading testing of retail & wholesale focused applications such as point of sale (POS), payment processing, financial switching (IST), settlement and reconciliation.
- Extensive hands on experience testing POS systems (Eg. Bulloch) with Financial Transaction processing
- Prior experience with ISO8583 Message specifications for Payment Processing
- Testing experience utilizing Agile delivery and/or a DevOps delivery models
- Expertise with requirements gathering, documentation, mapping, UAT Testing, & Test Scripting
- Proven experience implementing test automation, and performance testing.
- Knowledge and experience in Unix and SQL Queries
- Hands on experience setting up QM toolsets
- Experience with Jira and HP-ALM
- Extensive experience working with large and complex data sets
- Clear understanding and knowledge of QM Concepts, Methodologies and Testing Techniques
- Ability to translate User stories into functional and non-functional requirements and test artifacts
- A quick learner and capable of adapting to constantly changing project landscapes
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work across different teams and be proactive
- Experience working in a delivery focused consulting capacity

Preference for:
- Previous experience with payment certification processes (Eg. Moneris, RBC) would be an asset
- Deep understanding of host systems, applications and interfaces; system and network design; agile and waterfall project methodologies
- Knowledge of current and future technologies which can be applied to delivering a great customer experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft O/S and M/S products
- Good communication and analytical skills; you are a committed problem solver with sound decision-making ability, attention to detail and documentation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills at both a technical and business level, and you can build positive relationships with highly dispersed and dynamic teams
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:
- You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
