The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary invites applications for a short-term Sessional Co-Instructor to work alongside a primary instructor to co-teach ENCH 607 Natural Gas Processing Principles in the Fall 2022 term for a 2 month period. The course is scheduled to be delivered in-person.

Course Description:
Physical and chemical properties of natural gases; vapour-liquid equilibrium data and computations; flow of gas and gas-liquid mixtures; separation of gaseous mixtures; heat transfer in gas processing; production of natural gas and its associated liquids.

Course meeting times:
The overall course components and schedule are shown below. The co-instructor may be required to contribute to one or more of these course components, at the discretion of the primary course instructor.

Lecture Section L01: Thursday, 5:00-7:45PM

Friday, November 4 – Friday December 30, 2022

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and must have a demonstrated background in the subject matter related to this course, and specifically in fundamentally understanding the behaviour of natural gas, and how it is processed and transported, with an emphasis on techniques/processes employed by industry in Alberta. Publications in peer-reviewed journals related to natural gas processing will be viewed favorably. Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students in an engineering program will be viewed as an asset. Applicants should be comfortable teaching in person.
