Job description: Position Summary:
This employee position is primarily responsible for overseeing the shipping or receiving of commercial grains in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy. This role communicates with carriers, dispatches and buyers regarding commercial shipping/receiving & includes the preparation of all associated documents. This position also participates in general admin duties. General working hours are 8 hours Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm with overtime opportunities.

Duties:
Shipping & Receiving Role:
Prepares shipping instructions from purchase orders and contracts, communicating with buyers regarding logistics
Prepares Receiving documentation and as per contracts.
Maintains product identification and accurate product labelling.
Weighs trucks and oversees loading or unloading (from an admin standpoint)
Prepares complete and accurate bills of lading and other shipping documents
Reviews shipping sample analysis prior to releasing loads.
Labels and stores representative samples from shipments/receiving and manages sample inventories

Administrative Role:
Greets visitors, ascertains the nature of their business and directs visitors
Maintains filing systems
Orders office supplies
Assists with answering phones
Assists with meeting minutes

Required Qualifications:
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Attn to detail & accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with typing ability
Ability to switch between tasks, changing focus, often
Some post-secondary education in business administration or equivalent experience
Excellent time management skills & the ability to prioritize work
Ability to perform in a busy atmosphere
Own transportation

Qualifications that are an Asset:
Office Education Diploma
Shipping & receiving experience
