YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Your primary role as a member of the Product Development Centre team will be to contribute to transforming the company and introducing a new product lifecycle management platform.
• You will use your BOM and configured product structure management expertise to implement new product design work methods at BRP for future platforms and vehicles in accordance with industry standards and best practices.
• The BOM specialist will also focus on defining and implementing robust, long-term solutions that are best suited to the company’s needs and helping BRP implement organizational changes.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify the activities required to support the delivery of the best solutions in the fields of data, processes, methods and engineering tools
• Match business needs to systems and technical requirements and design the modular product structure framework in the PLM system
• Work with the selected software editor and integrator to ensure that the solutions and tools delivered in the proposed environment meet requirements and are relevant and up to date
• Contribute to the roadmap and provide the necessary support to implement Teamcenter (PLM), and oversee its deployment and adoption from end to end in BRP’s various business units
• Collaborate with the designers and engineers on product development teams by advising them on best practices for managing complex material lists according to various vehicle options
• Lead by example by demonstrating how to best utilize the solutions provided in your business capacity through your training, mentorship and coaching roles.
• Be an opinion leader and influencer in the product development departments and the resource person for information and expertise in your field within BRP as a whole

YOUR SKILLS

• Up-to-date expertise and a passion for new technologies
• Desire to be a champion of product design
• Strong understanding of engineering, manufacturing and data flow systems and processes in business applications such as PLM, ERP and MES (an asset)
• Understanding of business needs and how to communicate them in a straightforward way
• Ability to use plain language to explain complex technical concepts that you understand well
• Ability to convince and influence others (users, management and your peers) as to the validity of the proposed solutions and why they will provide the stated benefits

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Background in engineering, information systems or business administration, or experience in a similar position or another related field
• Experience managing product structure and “bills of materials” in an industry setting (minimum of 2 years of experience)
• Solid knowledge of managing variants and configured products
• Experience in an engineering-, industry- or vehicle manufacturing-related environment is an asset
• Practical knowledge of complex issues related to modular structure configuration and design at the production and customer service level is a definite asset
