Job title: SQL DBA
Job description: · Establish and Maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures in all environments. · Ensure databases are backed up daily for all environments (production, QA and development). · Develop stored procedures and set up jobs to maintain database integrity for physical and logical consistency of all databases. · Monitor and troubleshoot Commvault job failure issues. · Monitor and troubleshoot SQL Diagnostic Manager performance issues. · Monitor and troubleshoot SCOM issues. · Monitor and troubleshoot SQL backup and maintenance jobs · Upgrade and install Microsoft SQL Server software and related products · Preparing script for migrating all database objects, jobs, login and data · Set up linked servers. · Ensure mapping of a SQL Server login to a database user includes the name of the database user and the security ID of the corresponding SQL login and fix orphan logins. · Ensure Linked Servers are created with the appropriate permissions. · Set up jobs to perform database maintenance tasks (including rebuild index, update statistics, shrink database) to ensure data can be retrieved and updated in a timely fashion. · Preparing scripts for multiple database maintenance issues. · Monitor SQL server performance · Monitor Query performance · Develop reports for internal users. · Respond to data extract requests for external users as requested by the DSWG. · Develop and implement processes (queries, stored procedures and jobs) to prepare reports; send to internal users or external requestors periodically (weekly, monthly or annually). · Creation of CPSO Reports · Discuss with the BA or SME to understand internal or external user requests. · Develop SSIS packages for data integrations and workflow applications. · Develop SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation and loading. · Monitor SSIS package logs daily. · Resolve data related issues to make sure package execute successfully. · Make sure SSIS package can connect to respective servers. · Make sure source data files exists in source directory folder. · General technical troubleshooting and support for project and application support. · Promotion of database objects from the DEV environment to QA and Production. · Investigate the cause of database problem, provide solution and fix the problem. · Work as part of a team and provide technical support on database issues as required MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, or based on an individual’s status in any group or class otherwise protected under applicable human rights legislation.
