Job description: What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Technical Systems Analyst you will provide Level 2 support for over 20,000 servers in a 24 x 7 global environment, supporting several lines of business including Retail Bank, Investor Services, Capital Markets and Head Office. You will provide support to Production and Development environments. You will be an escalation contact for Windows Server OS Support with a primary focus on Windows security compliance initiatives, audit remediation and server builds spanning across IBM, DELL and Cisco X86 hardware.
Special Conditions: Pager rotation supporting the global infrastructure 24 x 7

What will you do?
Execution and Operational Excellence
- Maintain and provide support with the implementation services for Pre-PROD and PROD environments
- Windows administration tasks for all RBC supported Windows Servers O/S including installation/configuration, O/S configuration and tuning, and working with vendors to troubleshoot and repair failed systems as required.
- Assists in resolution of technical and operational issues as escalated from Level 1
- Analyzes work flow to streamline processes and enhance efficiency through automation
- Participates in key inter-departmental, cross-functional and cross-platform teams, providing expertise and operational support as required
- Champions strong IT governance through change and incident management
- Identifies and provides solutions to process issues or gaps
- Follows up with post mortem items as they are identified
- Read, Modify, Create and Develop PowerShell Scripts, with respect to configuration changes and platform automation
- Support Windows Server OS deployment processes, using a custom deployment process and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
- Provides on call support
- Provides overtime support as required
Project Management
- Act as lead for internal team projects and continuous improvements
- Manages day-to-day operational aspects of projects as assigned
- Provide expertise for the implementation/integration of various products/platforms
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Experience developing programs of simple to average complexity using Windows PowerShell
- Experience with installs, configuration and maintenance on Windows servers running 2012, 2016 and 2019 operating systems
- Professional with minimum 3 years’ experience on Windows Server administration / applications with multiple functions in a dynamic, fast-paced and immediate response environment
- Active Directory administration with knowledge and experience in Group Policy objects and Windows Server security settings.
