In the role of Technical Advisor, you will have the opportunity to showcase your technical skillset through the visualization and design of site layouts, the identification and mitigation of risk and the ability to provide assistance on the challenging site designs with both internal and external stakeholders. You will liaise with key internal/external roles in the successful execution of site and technical plans.
You will use your expertise to:
- Manage and steward company owned site projects such as Petro-Canada branded retail developments (retail service stations with A&W restaurants, highway travel centres, etc.)
- Work with external consultants for facility upgrade packages such as tank and piping upgrades
- Manage and steward project updates including but not limited to image requirements/drawings, comments from distribution and potential project stoppers.
- Maintain and steward Independent Dealer Drawings and branding element execution (see Independent Dealer section for more detail)
- Support PMs, PEs, BDRs with assembly of permit packages (drawings/specs)
- Provide back-up to Specialist CAD in coordination of third-party Design/Drafting consultants
- Coordinate third-party Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) contractor to do site due diligence on existing DL facilities (survey/assessment of existing assets, report generation)
- Work with EPC Contractor and Supply Chain Management (SCM) to do demand forecasting/tracking of Petro-Canada branding elements.

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
- Post-secondary diploma or degree; preferably in engineering, architecture or a related discipline
- Seven years of site design experience is preferred
- Minimum five years’ experience in project engineering and project management disciplines
- AutoCAD experience required
- Deep knowledge of industry codes, company standards and safety policies
- Project Management skills and experience
- Alignment with our

Preference for:
- Knowledge of downstream operations specifically refinery and logistics/mid-stream
- Proven experience with Site Design and Layout Optimization
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:
- You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
