About the role
We’re looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Administration to join our growing team!
As a Unit Claims Manager, Administration in our Centralized Payment Team, your work will have a big impact as a key member of the claims’ management team. You will demonstrate & provide leadership along with technical expertise to the centralized payment team. You and your team will be accountable for providing quality service, completing work processes effectively and efficiently, and continuously identifying areas of improvement.
What you’ll do here:
- Provide leadership and manage team operations to achieve Intact’s key business goals
- Select, lead, mentor, manage performance and develop staff
- Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiation and reserve establishment for claims
- Resolve complex claims related issues and/or escalated problems
- Identify and recommend changes to policies and/or processes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness
- Participate in budget making; and recruitment and hiring of your team
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience of Leadership skills including ability to motivate and coach staff to deliver results
- Strong technical skills in automobile claims – experience in dealing with legal and regulatory policy interpretation and implementation
- Ongoing commitment to self-development
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Previous claims handling experience in the automobile damage field (preferred)
- University degree/college diploma preferred
- Experience working in a contact centre environment and exposure to call centre systems such as Symposium would be an asset
