Job Description: Under the general direction of the College President, the VP Administration and Finance, is the Chief Financial Officer of the College and is proactive in resolving problems and in providing advice to the on financial, corporate and risk management matters. Working with other members of the College community, the Vice President ensures that the College operates within an annually established budget by creating operating plans that maximize instructional opportunities and services for students. In addition, the VP is responsible and accountable for all administrative services that support the business functions of the institution.
The VP is a senior officer with wide-ranging responsibilities and is responsible for planning, evaluating, reporting, and controlling all financial matters related to college operations. The VP participates in the formulation of relevant policies, procedures, and development plans to enhance and maintain the business functions of the College in collaboration with administrators, faculty, staff, members of the Board, and agencies external to the College.
The VP is responsible for the planning, directing, and monitoring of the various support departments in the Administration and Finance Division including Finance and Purchasing, Facilities, Information and Technology Services (IT), Strategic Transformation, Risk, and Records and Information Management Services and Ancillary Services.
Qualifications Required:
Education
- Graduate degree in business and an accounting designation.
- Ten (10) years of experience in a senior financial officer role with a preference for public sector experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of financial systems, budgetary processes, and administrative models.
- Broad knowledge of current developments in finance and corporate administration.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and ERP implementation.

- Strong consultation, facilitation, and relationship building skills are required to assist an internal client-base and work on projects/committees in cross-divisional teams.
- Effective interpersonal and leadership skills as demonstrated through sound negotiation, conflict resolution, and mediation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interviewing skills.
- Intermediate level computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database and email management.
- Ability to effectively lead and direct the work of others in a collegial setting.

Salary Range: $86.12 – $132.05 per hour
Pay Grade: Admin Paygrade 19
Compensation beyond the mid-point requires approval by the Public Sector Employers’ Council Secretariat (PSEC).
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 35
Hours may vary according to the needs of the department.
