Job title: Vice President of Finance & Administration

Job description: Our client is an international leading supplier of meat ingredients and meat raw materials for the pet food, food and pharmaceutical industries. Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Finance & Administration will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team and will provide overall management and direction for all aspects of the financial, accounting and administrative areas of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the President and other members of the Senior Leadership Team and drive the company’s vision-mission-value, operational strategy and hiring needs.
  • Oversee treasury, corporate taxation, reporting/audit/internal controls, operational accounting and regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure accurate, timely financial reports for the organizations’ monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Demonstrate ethical business practices and positive, professional relationships with board members, banks, auditors, lawyers, advisors and consultants.
  • Contribute to negotiating, managing, and closing major financial agreements.
  • Lead the financial accounting functions, including accounting, payroll, reporting, borrowing, information technology and systems, insurance, and taxes.
  • Prepare the annual operational & capital budgets.
  • Evaluate the financial performance of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 -8 years’ finance or accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA) is preferred
  • University degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with management, board members, and team members.
  • Innovative problem solver with a high level of strategic, critical, and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning skills.
  • Team-oriented and solid negotiation skills with the ability to empower and motivate team members.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Microsoft Dynamics NAV (preferred) etc.
  • Some travel will be necessary for this role.
