This position reports to the Manager of Finance, and is responsible for providing assessment base management functions for the County of Wellington and its member municipalities. Working closely with the Property Tax Analyst, this position provides backup assistance, as required, in all tax related matters.

The minimum qualifications for this position include:

  • Four-year degree in accounting, business or related field.
  • Completion of the Municipal Tax Administration Program (MTAP) Certificate.
  • Minimum four years of experience or equivalent in a related field.
  • Working towards an appropriate designation with the Institute of Municipal Assessors, a Provincial Assessment Association, the Appraisal Institute of Canada, or a similar recognized association.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Knowledge of concepts and methodologies used in property valuation for assessment purposes and related legislative rules.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Advanced proficiency in using spreadsheet applications and Municipal Connect 2.0, Proficient in using Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), OPTA (Online Property Tax Analysis) and RPTA (Real Property Tax Analytics)
  • All new or rehired employees must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 and agreement of the County of Wellington vaccination requirement, prior to commencing employment.
