Job Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager, Contracts, Performance and Process Improvement, the Analyst develops, recommends, and, upon approval, implements service contracts and procedures for Logistics and Operations. The Analyst works closely with Contractors, Operational Program Managers and Coordinators, and Finance Staff across the Health Authority.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as Business Administration or Health Administration, plus a minimum of five (5) years’ recent, related experience in contract management, preferably in a healthcare environment.
Skills And Abilities
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrated superior organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve issues appropriately.
- High degree of proficiency with standard Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and SharePoint. Familiarity with key Island Health systems such as Itrak and Network Client is an asset.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
