Job description: With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada’s largest beef processors. Consisting of four locations-the main processing facility located in Brooks, Alberta, where approximately 4,200 head of cattle are harvested and processed daily; the Head Office and a case ready plant, both based in Calgary, Alberta; and JBS Ontario, a case ready plant located in Belleville, Ontario. The JBS Canada facility in Brooks has the capacity to produce products ranging from boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, beef by-products and hides which are shipped across Canada and worldwide. At the multi-protein Mountain Creek Farms case-ready facility in Calgary, JBS Canada produces value-added products including marinated, portion sized, multi-pack options, kebabs and much more. JBS Ontario in Belleville produces fresh meat and seafood products for leading retailers in Canada.

We are currently seeking for a highly motivated, energetic, and experienced Business Analyst to support our management team and operation partner with financial and yield analysis. The position will provide an excellent opportunity to add value by improving process and providing visibility. You are responsible for delivering value-added yield analysis, as well as defining and reporting meaningful financial and operational metrics that lead to insightful business decision-making.

NOTE: This role will be located in Belleville, ON.

You will:

  • Responsible for the daily and weekly monitoring, analysis, and reporting on yield performance. Key is to provide accurate and timely information for decision making by production and management.
  • Works with supply chain and production team to gain an in-depth understanding of yield specifications and fulfill requirements. Based on these specifications, provides analysis and recommendations regarding appropriate action to explain deviations.
  • Identifies areas to improve yield performance and processes. Develops and implement solutions.
  • Coordinates and participates in yield testing and analysis. Maintains master data records on production standards, specifications, and performance.
  • Liaise with managers, production supervisors, and shipping and receiving staff to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Works with production management to achieve company objectives in terms of product quality, efficiency targets, and customer service
  • Performs ad hoc analysis and strategic projects

You have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in the Business Administration, or Finance
  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience in operation and/or yield analysis
  • Self-directed, self-motivated and demonstrated experience providing ideas and solutions to further business understanding
  • Must be tenacious, with the emotional intelligence to know when to push harder and when to look for alternative approaches
  • Must be able to listen and interpret the requirements of operational partner, plan accordingly and exceed expectations
  • Extremely well organized and objective oriented. Tireless work ethic and ability to perform under fast-paced working environment
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and integrity in striving for continuous improvement
  • Ability to develop moderately complex operational models in Excel
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), experience with Business Intelligence tools a plus
