Job description: Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Summer 2022 placement with a start date of May 2022, and end-date of August 2022. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2022; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2022), you must require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?
Wealth Management Compliance supports the various business lines of RBC Wealth Management. We are accountable for the administrative support of RBC’s internal monitoring of PRO accounts for DS and DI employees, including PRO accounts for non RBC employees, to ensure that RBC is appropriately managing its regulatory and reputational risk by complying with its regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
The incumbent will work closely with the Compliance Analyst to execute key elements of our Employee Monitoring Program.
What will you do?
- Approve/reject DI accounts of DS employees taking into consideration their role and reason for maintaining the accounts with DI.
- Escalate DI account requests from IA, BM and ABM to Director of Surveillance if needed.
- Escalate all requests for accounts of DS/DI employees outside DS/DI for approval. Responsible for gathering preliminary details regarding the accounts.
- Ensure accounts of other IIROC member firms employees are marked as Pro and duplicate statements are provided to the external firms.
- Ensure proper process is followed for non-IIROC member firm employees (i.e. client consent, non-pro range).
- Assist external firms by providing account statements and necessary account details.
- Responsible for maintaining records of approved accounts which are also leveraged by other DS Compliance partners.
- Review account activities on a monthly basis.
- Track and request from external firms duplicate statement not received.
- Assist Branch Management in obtaining monthly statements of Pro accounts for supervision.
