Job description: The Food & Beverage Assistant Manager will ensure that employees provide phenomenal guest experiences resulting in lasting memories. They will lead, develop and coach a team of professional employees to enhance the level of service and meet standards.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide on-the-floor supervision and support to employees and coach and develop them to ensure standards are being maintained
  • Be involved with ongoing menu/wine/cocktail development
  • Have a good understanding of day-to-day expectations, tasks and operations as well as forethought to upcoming events
  • Review guest comments, respond to any concerns in a timely and professional fashion
  • Understand both the restaurant’s and the hotel’s financial goals to achieve superior long-term financial returns to our shareholders
  • Handle guest concerns, reacting quickly and professionally
  • Ensure that service essentials, steps of service and brand standards are being followed by the team
  • Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

  • Must have 1 year previous experience as a Leader in Food & Beverage; preferably in a full service hotel or upscale restaurant
  • Must have pro-serve certification and POS system experience
  • Wine knowledge at or above WSET Level 2 an asset
  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality/Hotel Administration an asset
  • A passion for food & wine
  • Schedule flexibility, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20+lbs and able to constantly stand and walk throughout shift
