In Family Account Management (FAM), we act as personal CFO’s for high net worth families. We offer a customized approach for each family, which includes services such as cash management, lifestyle management, integrated financial planning opportunities as well as day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping needs.

Position overview :

Richter currently has an opportunity for a Client Relationship Manager and Advisor within the Family Account Management and Accounting team.

The candidate must possess a sound knowledge of accounting as well as a good understanding of financial products in order to serve the interests of a high-net-worth client base.

A day in the life of a Manager, FAM :

  • Serve as the personal CFO for wealthy families.
  • Hold quarterly meetings with the families to review reports and develop a financial strategy.
  • Serve as the primary contact person for professionals around the families.
  • Navigate and understand complex structures involving investment companies, trust companies, partnerships and multiple generations.
  • Develop appropriate procedures based on the needs of the families.
  • Conduct mandates with professional standards using sound methodologies and techniques.
  • Coordinate investment closings and capital calls including explaining the investment to clients and making arrangements for documents and payments.
  • Monitor the financial information of the families receiving personal CFO services from the division.
  • Offer advice on optimizing cash flow and on the overall structure.
  • Provide financial projections and a complete analysis of the client’s pro forma information (understand the implications of the transactions and their tax impact).
  • Coordinate financial activities with family advisors such as bankers, accountants and lawyers.
  • Gain an understanding of the investments and a general understanding of the fiscal, legal and accounting implications.
  • Recommend tax strategies in consideration of remuneration planning, distribution of income among family members, CDA balances, and safe income.

What we are looking for :

  • CPA designation
  • At least 7 years of experience in related duties
  • Experience managing wealth or considerable wealth, an asset
  • Other designations, an asset (F.Pl., TEP, CFA, MBA)
  • Ability to work in a growing, fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented, conscientious and resourceful
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Complete verbal and written bilingualism (English and French)
  • Excellent communication skills and team work
  • Computer literate in MS Office package, and comfortable with learning new software packages
