As a Manager, Medical Administration, Community of Care with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
- Provide expertise and guidance to clinical and operational leadership regarding strategic and operational plans and medical staff structures that are consistent with the Mission, Vision, Values of the organization, and where relevant, the VCH Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules.
- Support senior medical leaders and medical staff within the CoC. The Manager supports systems and strategies that support the effective management of physician resources including contractual, compensation, human resources, credentialing, and other matters.
- Be an integral part of the Medical Administration team, communicating and collaborating regularly with peer leaders across VCH and in other CoCs to ensure efficient and effective management of physician services within the CoC.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline such as Health Care Administration or Business Administration
- Minimum of five (5) year’s recent, related experience in a senior administrative position within health care administration or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience working directly with Physicians/Medical Staff in an acute facility/public healthcare setting is preferred
Knowledge & Abilities
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills to function in an interdisciplinary environment including the ability to communicate effectively and in partnership with the physician community.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, facilitate and work effectively, collaboratively and cooperatively with a wide-variety of groups, individuals and organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, quality improvement methodologies and implementation of change management strategies.
- Excellent research and analytical skills and the ability to present research findings and difficult issues (verbally or in writing) in a manner that can be easily understood.
- Knowledge and understanding of how to manage and use a broad range of health information systems and research.
- Extensive knowledge of both acute, community and rural healthcare operations both clinically and administratively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and staff resources.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and make effective recommendations on complex administrative, operational and policy issues and problems.
- Demonstrated excellent judgment in setting priorities, identifying issues and determining action required when working under pressure and deadlines.
- Demonstrated computer literacy with current word-processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, and project management
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
