Job description: This is a full-time, one-year TERM position (anticipatory permanent) working 75 hrs bi-weekly with an end date July 20, 2023.
Temporary Assignments will also be considered.

Since the Gold Rush of 1898, mining has featured prominently in building and defining the Yukon’s economy, shaping its communities, and contributing to its economic development. In the modern day context, Yukon Government controls and administers its natural resources, including its minerals. The Mineral Resources branch is responsible for administration of the Quartz Mining Act, Placer Mining Act and regulations through the Mining Recorder offices located in Whitehorse, Watson Lake, Dawson City and Mayo.
Working as a member of the Mining Recorder’s team, the Mining Administration Officer is responsible for assisting with the administration of Yukon Mining Legislation. This includes, advising clients on legislative requirements; explaining procedures and information requirements; reviewing applications and researching land dispositions to ensure overlaps are identified; compiling information on claims; and recording data in the Northern Mineral Records System (NMRS).

Essential Qualifications:

- Post-secondary coursework in business administration or a related field;
- Experience working in a front-line client service setting providing information to and working collaboratively with the general public and diverse client groups;
- Experience researching and drafting correspondence for review;
- Extensive experience and proficiency with computerized technology, software, databases, and applications, with the ability to manipulate data
- Working with land or resource management legislation/legal documents would be an asset.
Candidates who have a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.

Conditions of Employment: Obtain Notary Public certification within six months of hire.
