One of our major banking clients is looking for an Operations Analyst (Data Management, KYC/AML, Middle/Back Office Operations)
Length: 10 Months Contract with a high possibility of extension
Working Hours: Monday -Friday 9am-5pm
Location: Toronto, ON (WFH with the option to be Hybrid)
LOB: Capital Markets
PROFILE:
The Client Data Management & Strategy (CDM&S) group is responsible for driving the overall Capital Markets (CM) client data strategy, supporting daily client lifecycle operations, providing data management expertise, and managing the data governance framework across Bank’s Capital Markets.
Reporting to the Team Lead – Client Data Management & Strategy, the Operations Analyst role is a key part of the Operations team that manages Capital Markets client reference data. This role will primarily be responsible for managing and supporting daily operational processes. This will include validating changes (such as mergers & acquisitions/corporate actions) to client reference data, maintaining client reference data, reviewing data quality reports and remediating exceptions, and interfacing and collaborating with internal CM operations teams. There will be an opportunity to participate in the development of a new corporate actions management process and to create process documentation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support the daily operational processes and lifecycle management of client reference data for Capital Markets
- Validate changes to client reference data (such as mergers & acquisitions/corporate actions) and support and/or execute data remediation activities
- Ensure data is fit for purpose and meets the data quality requirements of business consumers
- Leverage internal and third-party reference data sources to research, validate, and enrich client records
- Interface with internal business groups and external vendors as they relate to client data management
- Provide end user support to client reference data business consumers
- Create process documentation
- Provide data analysis to support daily operations and enterprise initiatives
- Recommend process and efficiency improvements based on analysis
- Ensure adherence to privacy and confidentiality requirements (legal, compliance and operational risk)
- Review regulatory data exception reports and remediate exceptions
- Execute User Acceptance Testing
KNOWLEDGE:
- Completion of an applicable university degree and/or relevant professional designation is required
- 2+ years of data management experience in a similar operational role within the financial services industry (Client Onboarding, KYC/AML, Middle/Back Office Operations, or Trading Support role)
- Experience validating and remediating data (experience processing changes to client data resulting from corporate actions is preferred)
- Practical experience with Fenergo, or similar, data lifecycle management application
- Basic understanding of data management practices (data profiling, matching, cleansing, mastering, and exception management)
- Experience with data analysis and reference data reconciliation/remediation
SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Strong team player who works collaboratively, demonstrates initiative, is proactive, and client-focused
- Ability to maintain strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing and manipulating data sets
- Intermediate Excel skills – (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, functions, conditional formatting, tables, charting)
- Strong troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with colleagues across Bank’s Capital Markets
- Familiarity with data management tools/technologies preferred, but not required
