Broadmead Care is a vibrant non-profit health care provider in Victoria, BC with five Care Homes located on Southern Vancouver Island and a reputation for high quality, and leading practices. We are funded by Island Health, Veterans Affairs Canada, BC Housing, and through philanthropic support to provide a range of services including Long Term Care and Adult Day Programs for Veterans and seniors, and adults with disabilities. As a growing organization with multiple projects in the works, Broadmead Care is starting construction on a $45 million 100-unit campus of care that will include Long Term Care, Assisted Living and Affordable Housing.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the President and CEO of the Broadmead Care, the Vice President, Finance and Information Systems is responsible for ensuring the Finance and Information Systems Department serves and supports the strategic and operational requirements for Broadmead Care to achieve its Purpose. This position also works closely with the Board of Directors, in particular, the Board Finance Committee. The position leads the finance and information systems teams, and is accountable for the financial management, information systems, communications systems, insurance requirements and treasury functions of both the Broadmead Care Society and the Broadmead Care Foundation while ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in a not-for-profit environment and implementation of best practices for all areas of responsibility.

The Vice President provides leadership, vision, direction, support, motivation and oversight to all team members and fosters a culture of safety, caring and teamwork.

As the ideal candidate, you bring a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management; a Masters’ Degree in a related field is preferred. A CPA Designation is required. With at least 7-10 years of senior financial leadership experience, you have demonstrated your ability to facilitate and drive/manage change in a finance department and across the organization and you enjoy working in a growing, evolving and dynamic environment. You are experienced with leading or being responsible for information and communications systems management and are experienced managing issues related to the private/public sector interface. Your ability to build and successfully integrate new financial processes and policies while consistently striving for better performance will have a positive impact on Broadmead Care.
